For degree programmes starting in spring 2012

The application period starts from 29 August - 9 September 2011, online application closes at 4.15. pm Finnish time (+2 hrs GMT).

Paper application forms must arrive by 9  September at 4.15 pm Finnish time at the latest to the polytechnic/UAS of the applicant's first choice.

Note that admitted students must confirm their study places by 9 December 2011 at 4.15 pm Finnish time at the latest.


Applicant's checklist

Apply online 29 August - 9 September 2011.                    

Send the required copies of non-Finnish educational certificates and language certificates by 19 September at 4.15 pm Finnish time at the latest to the admission office of your first option.

Entrance examination invitations and Decisions on eligibility are posted by mail in October.

Entrance examinations are arranged between 19  and 28  October. The invitations will include all the details about time, location, and special arrangements. Please note, that some polytechnics/UAs do not arrange examinations anywhere else than in Finland.

If you are applying with an upper secondary education completed in Finland, please inform of the changes in your grade point average by 3 November 2011 at 4.15 pm at the latest.

Results are announced on 14 November 2011 at the earliest. Please remember that posting the results takes few days.

All higher education admission results are announced by 29 November 2011 at the latest.
Confirm your study place by returning the confirmation form by 9 December  2011 at 4.15 pm Finnish time at the latest to the higher education institution you chose as your final study place. If you do not return the form in time, you will lose your study place.

If you have applied with an upper secondary education completed in Finland, attach a copy of your educational certificate(s) to the confirmation form and return them by 9 December 2011 at 4.15 pm at the latest.

Please remember that your admission is conditional until your original relevant certificates are checked. The polytechnic/UAS may withdraw the admission, if the applicant has given false information or has given forged document.

Application for Spring 2012 Starts!!!




Application for degree programmes starting in spring 2012 to Finnish UAS starts 29th of August 2011

You can apply to programmes conducted in English at polytechnics/UAS takes place through a system of online joint application. Prospective students can apply to four different degree programmes at polytechnics/UAS using the same application form.

Application period for programmes starting in spring 2012 starts on 29 August and closes on 9 September 2011 at 4.15 pm Finnish time. All required attachments have to be at the admissions office of the applicant's first choice polytechnic /UAS by 19 September 2011 at 4.15 pm Finnish time.  All attachments have to be posted or delivered to the admissions office, faxed or scanned copies are not accepted. Paper applications not submitted online must arrive at the admissions office of the applicant's first choice polytechnic/UAS by the end of application period at 4.15 pm Finnish time. please note, that there are a limited number of degree programmes available in the autumn application.

In 2011, all those applicants who are applying with a qualification completed somewhere else than in Finland and are not citizens of an EU/EEA-country, must provide a proof of language skill. Accepted certificates are:

TOEFL score 550 pbt/79-80 ibt
IELTS academic score 6.0
grade C in the Finnish Matriculation examination in advanced level English
skills level 4 in English in the National Certificate of Language Proficiency.

In addition upper secondary education or University degree in English completed in the United Kingdom, Ireland, the United States of America, Canada, Australia or New Zealand or a bachelor's or Master's degree conducted in English in a European Union or European Economic  Area -Country  is also accepted as a demonstration of sufficient English language skills. Education in English completed in any other country will not be accepted. Proof of language skill must arrive at the admissions office by 25  February 2011 4.15 pm at the latest.
